Vriksha Bandhan

 Raksha Bandhan marks the loving bond between brothers and sisters. At Navsrijan, we celebrated Raksha Bandhan along with Vriksha Bandhan –  wherein children tied a ‘mouli or rakhi to the trees and took a pledge to protect them.

The idea of tying rakhis to the trees was important; although we plant several trees on various occasions but it is even more important to protect them and ensure that they nurture well. Children also performed aarti of some of the trees and applied tilak before tying a rakhi to the trunk of the tree.

Through this initiative, we hope to instil environmental consciousness in our students and nurture in them a love for Mother Nature.
