Nav Srijan is an Educational Initiative by Seth M. R. Jaipuria School, Lucknow to provide an opportunity to the underprivileged children to discover their potential and chisel their personalities for a better and brighter future.

We made a humble beginning with 49 children in October 2010. Today we have 250 Nav Srijan children under our care. In our humble way we take care of all their needs, be it uniforms, books, transportation, mid day fruit, and much more. Besides English, Hindi, Math, and Science, these children are also impacted by the study of Sanskrit, Value Education through Sanskar Srijan, Computer Science, Yoga, Performing and Fine Arts, and Life Skills.

No compromises are made in the selection of the faculty who impart education to the children of Nav Srijan. One Principal and twelve permanent teachers are employed. Nine are class teachers, one is Hindi teacher and two are assistant teachers. Special sports training is given to the students who are excellent in sports. One assistant teacher is specialist in dealing with the underprivileged children by imparting life skills through games. Three helpers( Ayahs) and two sweepers are also dedicated to Nav Srijan. Sanskrit, Yoga, Computer Science, Music, Art and Games are taught by the faculty of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School. Nav Srijan teachers are following the same assessment schedule, activities and using the Smart Classes as Jaipuria students do. Children of Nav Srijan participate in every event of the mainstream school with mainstream students and share the same infrastructure and facilities with them.

Holistic Learning

Through our holistic programme we aim to make them intellectually, emotionally, physically and spiritually balanced citizens of the country. Seeing the need of the hour we have kept the medium of instruction English. We are making a concerted effort to give a new direction to the teaching learning pedagogy by stressing on Indian Culture and values, competencies and skills, apart from continually broadening their knowledge and understanding base. Special sports training is given to the students who are excellent in sports.

We are trying to give a new direction to their education by laying more stress on IT skills and competency in English language. We have planned to give also vocational training to them. Not only are we developing a passion for learning but also trying to foster holistic understanding through innovative ways. We address all aspects/ needs of the children.

Mind Spark – The school has evolved to meet the changing needs of education. The school’s growth has been fueled by constant innovation and a willingness to embrace advanced technology and exploit its benefits to improve the learning experience. We have introduced Mindspark, a computer based self learning programme that helps a child improve his mathematical and logical skills, a learning path based on his needs. It has been a paradigm shift in teaching.

Each step we take is towards the holistic growth of our Nav Srijan children.

Our Partnership With KHEL (Kids Holistic Education And Life Skills – Changing life through sports)

We have associated ourselves with the project KHEL (Kids holistic education and life skills –changing life through sports)KHEL imparts essential life skills to underprivileged children and raise sensitivity about various issues, which are of most importance to them, but rarely get covered within the academic curriculum. They help to reduce their (underprivileged children) vulnerability to anti-social elements and to equip them with skills to become self-reliant and become a responsible citizen of the world.

Buddy Interaction

class_activityWe have a unique programme called Buddy interaction for our Nav Srijan children . Class VII children of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, adopt one child of our Nav Srijan and exchange skills and interact with them regularly . The aim of Buddy interaction is-

  • One skill to be exchanged between the buddies.
  • Stressing on the virtues of personal hygiene.
  • Strengthening English conversation.
  • Experiencing the joy of giving.
  • Creating awareness about environmental issues.

This gives Nav Srijan children emotional support and instill confidence in them. This also helps in sensitizing the students of our Jaipuria school.
